Police Report 8-23-11 - WALMART A man was caught shoplifting batteries, other items

STATESBORO POLICE
Arrests
     Terry Grogan Wilkerson, 47, Bryant Street — wanted person.
     Gregory Elliott Hendrix, 37, Bonnett Road, Portal —failure to appear.
     Richard Austin Polson, 19, Gentilly Road — theft by shoplifting.
     Joseph Leonard Thomas Jr., 19, Lanier Drive — entering auto, DUI under 21, underage possession of alcohol.
     Heather Michelle Lanier, 42, South Zetterower
Avenue —  driving without a valid license, headlight violation, failure to obey traffic device, DUI (refused test), obstruction.
     Sheila Joanne Rogers, 50, Aaron Station Road, Portal — public intoxication.
     Gary Lee, 35, Stonehaven Drive — simple assault, criminal trespass.
     Joseph Holmes, 21, Gooseneck Court, Savannah — theft by shoplifting.
     Bradley Dellmus Cone, 17, Linda Drive — no license, excessive volume.

Incidents
     CHURCH STREET — A woman said her father never made it to his destination in Augusta. Criminal investigations is looking into the situation.
     KMART — A man removed security tags from razor blades and shoplifted them.
     SUCCESS COURT — A man and woman argued over a vehicle not returned on time. The woman was arrested after police noted visible injuries on the man.
     WALMART — A man was caught shoplifting lithium batteries, and another man shoplifted an external hard drive, video games and a bath “pouf”.
     JC PENNEY — Three women caught stuffing clothes from shelves into large shopping bags fled. One was caught and arrested.
     NORTH MAIN STREET — A man reported a 1989 blue Chevrolet C1500 stolen.
     JEWEL DRIVE — A woman said her husband slapped her in the face.
     CAMPUS CLUB APARTMENTS — A man was arrested after being seen peering into and breaking into cars.
     THE AVENUE AT SOUTHERN — Two men knocked on a man’s door and asked questions about a subject the tenant did not know. When the tenant heard a gun being “racked,” he slammed the door and called police.
    In a separate incident a man reported the theft of a Play Station 3.
     VISTA VIEW APARTMENTS — A man and woman argued over potatoes.
     COLLEGE WALK APARTMENTS — A woman reported the theft of two bags of clothing, additional men’s shirts, and two posters.
     WILLOW BEND APARTMENTS — A man reported four rims stolen.
     LITTLE LOTTS CREEK APARTMENTS — A woman reported the theft of a safe with birth certificates, paperwork and $5,600.

BULLOCH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Arrests
    Arrests since Friday will be published Wednesday.

Incidents
     OLD PORTAL ROAD —(Portal) Someone cut gas lines on two nurse tanks and stole about a gallon of gasoline. They also drove the complainant’s tractors around.
     LAWRENCE BAPTIST CHURCH — (Pembroke) Someone tried to steal air conditioner units by cutting away fencing and cutting wires after shutting off power. Copper tubing had been cut and taken. Alarms alerted law enforcement.
     WILLIAMS LANDING ROAD — (Clito) Someone stole a TV, microwave oven and rods and reels.
     TRIPLE T ROAD —(Register) A man reported the theft of wiring after finding a bag of assorted wires on his property he suspects came from several vehicles there.
     PLEASANT HILL ROAD — (Portal) A woman reported a man left several “bizarre” notes. Deputies responding reported the man was in custody for similar incidents.
     MORGAN CREEK COUNTRY STORE — (Ga. 67, Denmark) Three air conditioner units and two air conditioner coils were stolen from the building.
     WESTSIDE MOBILE HOME PARK — (Statesboro) A woman reported the theft of a white 200 Ford Expedition.

     Louis J. Manigo, 18, Chandler Road — possession of a weapon in a school safety zone.
     Bravura J. Banks II, 18, Knight Drive — possession of marijuana.

Incidents
     FRIDAY — Officers issued one traffic warning and assisted three motorists.
     SATURDAY — Officers issued two traffic warnings, assisted ten motorists and responded to one alarm.
     SUNDAY — Officers issued three traffic warnings, assisted five motorists and responded to one alarm.
     EAGLE VILLAGE — A drug complaint was reported.
     SOUTHERN PINES — A drug complaint was reported.
     KENNEDY HALL — A pair of sunglasses was taken from a vehicle.
