    THE COVE AT SOUTHERN — Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, police stopped a vehicle that couldn’t stay in its lane and failed to signal while turning. After investigation, the driver was charged with DUI (less safe) and traffic violations, and two passengers were each charged with possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce).
    STATESBORO HIGH SCHOOL — Someone stole a student’s iPhone 4 from the junior varsity gym.
In a separate incident, a student was arrested after he removed another student from a desk and broke his glasses during a scuffle. The offender was charged with simple battery and released to his mother.

    SWEETHEART LANE — Someone stole a trailer tag from a utility trailer.
    CYPRESS LAKE DRIVE — An anonymous caller told dispatch there was a boat, which had been stolen from Bass Pro Shops, at a residence. Deputies found a trailer and boat at the residence, and Bass Pro Shops confirmed it had been stolen from the Savannah location. The trailer and boat were recovered as stolen property.
    DOLLAR GENERAL — (U.S. Highway 301 South) A woman left the store without paying for items she tried to conceal. After an employee provided a description of the suspect, the vehicle and where it traveled, deputies found the vehicle and arrested the suspect. The stolen items were not recovered.
    NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — A man deputies knew had a suspended license was seen driving. When confronted, the man said his girlfriend was driving, but she said he was driving, even though she has a valid license. He was arrested.
    GREEN HAVEN MOBILE HOME PARK — Someone stole $60 cash and a Nintendo handheld device from an unlocked vehicle.
    LANIER DRIVE/ST. CHARLES PLACE — Deputies stopped a vehicle that had a cracked windshield. A check of the driver’s license revealed he had a DUI permit, which allowed him to drive to school. He told deputies he had just come from a store. After he was arrested, he allowed deputies to take his wallet from the vehicle and lock it. When a deputy entered the vehicle, he saw two suspected pieces of marijuana blunts in an ash tray. The man admitted he had smoked marijuana in the car about two weeks ago. He was warned about the drug-related objects and the cracked windshield, then taken to jail on the driver’s permit violation.
    SAW GRASS TRAIL — A woman told deputies her ex-boyfriend came into her home uninvited and left just before officers arrived at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday. She gave them a description of the vehicle and where he lives. Other women there said they were awakened by yelling and saw the ex-boyfriend try to fight another man before leaving. A deputy located the ex-boyfriend at his apartment and arrested him.
    A-1 MINI STORAGE — A woman told deputies the following items were stolen from her storage unit: two bookcases, a pet vacuum, a scrubber, dishes, a canister set, a crystal glass set, a bed frame and a rocking chair. Also, other items in the unit sustained more than $3,600 damage.
    POJO’S GAS & GO — (U.S. Highway 301 South) A man passed a counterfeit $50 bill while trying to pay for merchandise. An employee tried to get him to wait while she called the sheriff’s office, but he left.
    JESSICA LANE — A woman said that when she returned home, her door frame was damaged. It appeared someone tried, unsuccessfully, to kick in the door.
    OLD RIGGS MILL ROAD — A woman told deputies, while at the Emergency Room at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, that she had been injured by a man earlier in the evening in her home. Deputies followed her home after she was treated so she could retrieve some belongings. On entering the home, deputies smelled an extremely strong odor of marijuana. The man was in his bedroom and gave deputies consent to search. They found a large plastic bag with about 3 ounces of suspected marijuana, a scale, grinder and a lot of plastic bags. The man was arrested.

    Christopher Troy Krohm Howe, age and address unavailable — speeding, possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

    Jefferson Wright Doehling, 19, Georgia Avenue — obstruction of an officer.

    Officers issued two traffic citations and two traffic warnings and assisted eight motorists Wednesday.
    CENTENNIAL PLACE — Police arrested a man for obstruction stemming from an incident that occurred Jan. 22.
