➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ BURKHALTER ROAD — A man said his dog died and he suspects his mail carrier poisoned it. The carrier had asked the complainant to move his mailbox to make it easier to access, and the complainant refused. He said the mail carrier also questioned him about his dog being aggressive. The dog was contained by an underground fence. 

▲ PORTAL MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL — A person was served with a criminal trespass warning after causing a scene during a conference.

▲ BLUEBERRY COURT — A man reported a burglary, with a doorknob broken and a lock broken in a camper. He reported several items missing, including dog pens and exercise enclosures. He told deputies he saw dog pens that looked like his.

▲ SEED TICK ROAD — Deputies responded to a domestic dispute where a man, upon finding texts and emails indicating the woman may be cheating, woke her up by yelling at her to get out of his house.

▲ AKINS POND ROAD — A woman reported someone stole her mailbox.

▲ ARCOLA ROAD — Deputies responded to a report of child abuse. The case remains under investigation.

▲ OLD RIVER ROAD SOUTH — A man said he asked a woman for a ride and she agreed but said she had to stop by her house and get medication for seizures. The complainant stayed in the vehicle and heard arguing. Another man came out of the house with a gun and demanded to know what the complainant was doing with his wife. Then the offender went back inside and there was screaming. The complainant went in and found the woman having a seizure on the bed. Her husband had grabbed her and threw her on the bed, and he was arrested for battery.


➤ Statesboro Police Department 

▲ JOHNSON STREET — A juvenile found in a woman’s apartment, uninvited and without permission, was arrested. The child was turned over to parents per orders from the Department of Juvenile Justice.

▲ ACCIDENTS — Officers responded to six traffic accidents Friday, six Saturday and two Sunday.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Officers issued six traffic citations and three traffic warnings and assisted seven motorists.

▲ DORMAN DRIVE — Officers responded to an injured person incident.

▲ DINING COMMONS — Someone reported a theft.

▲ UNIVERSITY VILLAS — Officers investigated reports of a suspicious person.

▲ INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BUILDING — Someone reported a theft.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES APARTMENTS — Someone reported receiving harassing communications from an unwanted person.

▲ PAULSON STADIUM — Officers investigated a reported theft.

▲ CENTENNIAL PLACE — Someone was arrested for an alcohol violation. 

In another case, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for discipline over accusations of battery and an alcohol violation. That person was not criminally charged.
