SEASONS APARTMENTS — A woman said she was in a domestic dispute with another woman, but the altercation was only verbal. One woman said she lost several items from her purse, or they might have been stolen: driver’s license, Social Security card, counter checks and debit card.
NORTH COLLEGE STREET — A woman said someone called her, telling her she won $3 million, but that she would need to buy a gift card and give the gift card number to the caller. She realized it was a scam and told the caller she was not interested, but he continued to call. While an officer was talking to the woman, the caller called her cellphone. When the officer took the phone and identified himself, the caller, who had a foreign accent, used profane language.
SOUTH MULBERRY STREET — A man said he applied for jobs online, including one that requested a background check and resume be emailed before the interview. When he showed up for the interview, he discovered the request for the background check and resume was a scam and needed to file a report in case his identity was used.
WEST MAIN STREET — A woman reported the theft of $170 cash from her purse, which was underneath a pillow on the living room couch.
EAST GEORGIA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER — A man cursed at and shoved another. The offender was charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
GATA’S — A man was seen tearing the bar’s sign.

The shelter reported the following activity during the week of Dec. 30-Jan. 5:
Surrendered by citizens — five dogs and one cat from rural county areas; and one cat from City of Statesboro.
Collected by officers — three dogs and two cats from rural county areas; three dogs and one cat from City of Statesboro.
Adopted from shelter — one dog and three cats.
Reclaimed by owners — one dog and one cat.
Died at shelter — one cat.
Euthanized — 17 dogs and five cats.
Fees collected — $460.
