One woman reported that another threatened her through a Facebook posting, which included the phrases, “… you just made your own bed!” and “Now say it with me ‘Dead Women Walking.’”

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ GENTILLY DRIVE — One woman reported that another threatened her through a Facebook posting, which included the phrases, “… you just made your own bed!” and “Now say it with me ‘Dead Women Walking.’” The complainant directed a message to the other woman, resulting in a lengthy reply containing obscenities. The responding deputy, who observed that the conflict appeared to be over “a male subject,” talked to the woman who made the Facebook post, who said it referred to song lyrics. Both women told the deputy they will avoid all contact and block each other on social media.

▲ LEEFIELD STATON — A woman reported that after she let her  cat out of the house Sunday she heard a gunshot  and saw a neighbor in his backyard holding a gun. The woman said she did not see the cat again until Wednesday, when she found it with a gunshot wound to its left front leg. She rushed the cat to an animal hospital for emergency surgery and told the deputy the veterinary bill was an estimated $2,000. Deputy reported unsuccessful attempt to contact the neighbor.

▲ U.S. HIGHWAY 301 SOUTH — A motor vehicle fire was extinguished by the Bulloch County Fire Department. After “something collapsed,” the driver had pulled into the turn lane before the vehicle burst into flames, a deputy reported.

▲ SIMMONS ROAD — A domestic dispute call led the arrest of a man on multiple charges.

➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ VARIOUS LOCATIONS — Officers filed seven reports Thursday for vehicle accidents in the city limits, including three reports for accidents at or near the Chandler Road-Fair Road intersection.

▲ NO NEW REPORTS for incidents were available Friday as of press time.

➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued one traffic warning but no citations and assisted seven motorists Thursday.

▲ UNIVERSITY VILLAS — A criminal trespass report was made and turned over the department’s investigators.

▲ WILLIAMS CENTER — Someone reported a suspicious person or activity.


▲ SOUTHERN COURTYARD — A domestic dispute was reported.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING — Someone reported a suspicious person or activity.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — University police assisted the Statesboro Police Department on a call.
