➤ Evans County Sheriff’s Office

▲ BAY BRANCH CHURCH ROAD — A person reported a chainsaw stolen that was later located in a pawn shop.

▲ FAMILY DOLLAR/HIGHWAY 301 NORTH — Someone reported a shoplifter.

▲ BARROW BAY ROAD — Deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving a gun.

▲ OLD SAVANNAH HIGHWAY — A woman said her boyfriend struck her, but there was insufficient evidence for an arrest.

▲ DAISY NEVILS HIGHWAY — A man said his home was burglarized and several items stolen while he went to the hospital with a friend.

▲ NORTH GRADY STREET — A man was taken to the hospital after a robbery where someone struck him in the forehead with an unknown object. He was bleeding, and said the person “came out of nowhere” and attacked him, stealing $100 from his pocket.


➤ Statesboro Fire Department

▲ During the week of Aug. 5-11, firefighters responded to 18 calls, including the following: two structure fires- Church Street (automatic aid with Bulloch Fire Department) and Kennedy Bridge Road (automatic aid with Bulloch Fire Department.) No injuries.

▲ Also, three brush/grass fires, a vehicle fire and a miscellaneous fire call; nine fire alarms, one EMS assist and a smoke detector installation/check.


➤ Bulloch County Fire Department

▲ Between Aug. 9-15, firefighters responded to the following calls:

▲ Portal — one structure fire agency assist, one vehicle fire, one false alarm.

▲ Register — one structure fire, two vehicle fires.

▲ Nevils — one structure fire agency assist, one vehicle fire, one alarm call.

▲ Bay District — no calls.

▲ Stilson — no calls.

▲ Brooklet — no calls.

▲ Leefield — one false alarm. 

▲ Clito — two false alarms.


➤ Brooklet Police Department

▲ Between Aug. 8-15, officers responded to one criminal trespass incident and one entering auto. They also issued the following citations: one for operator and passenger (motorcycle) must wear shoes; three citations for window tint violation; and one speeding citation.


➤ Register Police Department

▲ Last week, officers issued one citation for driving without a license; one citation for speeding and one citation for taillight violation.


➤ Candler County Sheriff’s Office

▲ HENDRICKS ROAD — Someone reported a stalking incident.

▲ HIGHWAY 129 — Deputies responded to a call involving methamphetamine possession. Also, deputies investigated a stalking report.

▲ COWART POND ROAD — Deputies responded to a call involving possession and intent to distribute methamphetamines.

▲ WINDWOOD ROAD — Someone reported illegal dumping.

▲ PONDEROSA ROAD — Someone reported a simple battery incident.


➤ Bulloch County Animal Shelter

▲ Animals received from rural areas — 13 adult dogs, five puppies, two adult cats, five kittens.

▲ Animals received from City of Statesboro — two adults dogs, one puppy, one kitten.

▲ Adopted from shelter — four adult dogs, two puppies, one adult cat.

▲ Taken by rescue organizations — one adult dog.

▲ Reclaimed by owners — three dogs.
