A shoplifter trying to leave without paying for over $260 in consumable goods fled before being apprehended.

INCIDENTS

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ JOHN GRECO LANE — A man reported damage to his back door and to a shed. Nothing was reported to have been taken.

▲ NEVILS-GROVELAND ROAD — Someone reported a mail box had been knocked down.

▲ METTS ROAD — A man answered a call from someone claiming to be with the Social Security Administration. The caller told the man his Social Security Number was tied to an abandoned vehicle found in Mexico with blood and drugs found inside. The caller asked the man for the last four digits of his Social Security Number, but he handed the phone to his daughter, who told the caller she knew the call was a scam. The caller demanded to speak to the man again but they hung up and contacted deputies.

▲ HIGHWAY 46 — A man reported damage to a door hinge and lock, and said someone entered his home and disturbed things. He did not report anything missing.

▲ BILLY MIKELL ROAD — A woman said she saw a man look into her car and she wanted him served with criminal trespass for her property. 

▲ THOMKIN DRIVE — Two men were found lying on the ground beside a car that had apparently struck a house. The house suffered minor damage and the men, with non-life-threatening injuries and one of whom appeared intoxicated, were taken to the hospital by EMS. The case was turned over to Georgia State Patrol.


➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — A shoplifter trying to leave without paying for over $260 in consumable goods fled before being apprehended.

▲ OCTANE GAS STATION/NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — A person was treated by EMS for an injury said to have been sustained by picking up one of the store’s products.

▲ JONES MILL ROAD — A person told police that someone threatened them. The complainant was not injured.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Someone reported the theft of $60.

▲ CHANDLER ROAD — A woman called police to report her ex-boyfriend stole her car keys.

▲ FLASH FOODS/FAIR ROAD — A shoplifter fled after taking a pack of sunflower seeds and a candy bar.

▲ MIKELL STREET — A man called police and EMS after an unidentified victim showed up at his door with visible injuries. Reports did not list additional details or explain how the reported battery occurred.

▲ SOUTH COLLEGE STREET — A woman reported seeing a Peeping Tom. She gave police a description but they did not find the suspect.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police Department

▲ Officers issued 11 traffic citations and 12 warnings and assisted one motorist Tuesday.
