▲ During the week of July 29-Aug.4, firefighters responded to 16 calls, including the following: two grass/brush fires, a permitted burn, two vehicle fires, two electrical issues and a miscellaneous fire call.

▲ Also, six fire alarms, a vehicle crash cleanup, and a hazardous materials (smell of gas) call.

▲ Between Aug. 2-9, firefighters responded to the following calls:

▲ Portal — one structure fire, one agency assist/structure fire, three brush/grass fires. 

▲ Register — one structure fire, one grass/brush fire, one rescue call.    

▲ Nevils — one agency assist/structure fire. 

▲ Bay District — one vehicle fire.  

▲ Stilson — no calls.

▲ Brooklet — one rescue call, one vehicle fire.

➤ Brooklet Police Department

▲ Last week officers made two arrests; one for DUI and one for public intoxication. They also issued the following citations: one expired tag, one failure to yield, three texting while driving, one failure to signal turn, one impeding traffic flow, one failure to maintain lane, one DUI and one public intoxication.

▲ Officers issued one speeding citation last week.
