Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

Orette Andrew Benjamin, 38, 221st Street, Springfield Garden, N.Y. — possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Alvin Lennard Knight, 30, Billy Mikell Road — disorderly conduct.

Dwight Adam Clark, 28, Magnolia Street, Claxton — suspended license.

Roy Anthony Mumford, 50, Cherokee Court — suspended registration, no insurance, suspended license, bench warrant, wanted person (Reynolds police).

Melissa Dawn Woodruff, 43, Minus Avenue, Garden City — felony probation violation.

 

Statesboro Police Department

Aleta Vonette Covington, 39, Lanier Drive — bench warrant.

George Adam Simpson, 42, East Main Street, Lexington, S.C. — second-degree criminal damage to property.

Michael Shawn Durden, 40, South College Street — felony obstruction, possession/use of a drug-related object, simple battery against a law enforcement officer or K9, probation hold for Bulloch County.

INCIDENTS

Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

ARCOLA ROAD — When a man returned his child to the child’s mother, the mother’s husband came out and stared at the complainant. When the complainant asked him how he was doing, the offender cursed and used an obscene finger gesture in the presence of juveniles. The complainant wanted the actions documented.

MARIA SORRELL/KYLE SORRELL ROAD — A woman was riding her bike when a black dog ran out and bit her on the leg. The dog’s owner was cooperative with humane enforcement, and the dog was in compliance with rabies vaccinations.

WIMBLEDON COURT — A woman was having a dispute with a moving company that brought her belongings from New York to Statesboro, where she had just moved. The company employees refused to leave her belongings, so she called deputies. The movers were trying to leave when deputies arrived, but both van doors were left open. Deputies smelled green, unburned marijuana and searched to find a duffel bag with marijuana and paraphernalia. One man was arrested.

BILLY MIKELL ROAD — While talking to a man about two juveniles throwing a softball at his door, deputies saw an adult leave the house where the juveniles lived. The complainant chased the neighbor’s car on foot, cursing and yelling. A verbal argument ensued. The neighbor got back in his car and drove away when deputies ordered the men to stop fighting, but the complainant continued cursing and yelling, becoming aggressive with the deputies. They arrested the complainant for disorderly conduct.

YORKTOWN PLACE — A woman called deputies when her ex-boyfriend showed up, beating on her door, and appearing intoxicated. She said she feared for her safety since they had recently separated due to violence.

 

Statesboro Police Department

WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — An employee received several suspicious text messages while at work.

S&S RAILROAD BED ROAD — A tenant reported damage to an apartment widow.

 

Georgia Southern University Police

Officers issued no citations or warnings Monday and assisted no motorists.

 

Georgia State Patrol Post 45

During the week of 

June 17-24, troopers investigated 14 crashes with no fatalities and four reported injuries and arrested two on DUI charges.

Troopers also issued the following: eight citations and one warning for seat belt violations, nine citations and three warnings for child restraint violations and 17 citations and 29 warnings for speeding. 

Troopers also apprehended a wanted person.
