➤ Statesboro Fire Department

▲ During the week of June 24-30, firefighters responded to 19 calls, including: five structure fires — automatic aid with Bulloch Fire Department — heavy involvement in commercial structure, no injuries or deaths; Northside Drive East — commercial cooking fire, damage limited to kitchen; East Main Street, kitchen fire, out upon arrival; Kevin Court, kitchen fire, out upon arrival; Leefield Station Road, automatic aid with Bulloch Fire, canceled en route.

▲ Also, firefighters responded to one vehicle fire and one report of electrical issues; seven fire alarms; one smoke scare; one EMS assist; a station tour, Red Cross blood drive and a show and tell.


➤ Bulloch County Fire Department

▲ Between June 28 and July 5, firefighters responded to the following calls:

▲ Portal — one brush/grass fire, one vehicle fire, one agency assist with Statesboro for a structure fire.

▲ Register — one fire alarm, one vehicle fire.

▲ Nevils — no calls. 

▲ Bay District — one vehicle rescue, one vehicle fire.

▲ Stilson — one fire alarm, one structure fire, one assist Statesboro with a structure fire.    

▲ Brooklet — one agency assist Statesboro with structure fire.

▲ Leefield — two fire alarms, two assist Statesboro with structure fires.

▲ Clito — one brush fire, two assist Statesboro with structure fires.


➤ Brooklet Police Department

▲ During the week of June 21-28, officers responded to one call regarding a vehicle impeding the roadway, and issued the following: six citations for speeding; two citations for seat belt violations; one citation for no working brake or signal light; one citation for no insurance; one citation for invalid tag; one citation for improper tag — using to conceal; one citation for expired tag; and two citations for unlawful use of a wireless device while driving.
