➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ HERSCHEL DRIVE — Deputies responded to a home where a man and woman were reportedly arguing.

▲ AYCOCK STREET — A woman filed a report about harassing communication.

▲ JOHNNY WHITE ROAD — A man and woman arguing over her wish to visit her daughter led to deputies responding to the home. The woman said her husband threw her purse and shoes outside, told her to leave, and also threw a glass into a sink, breaking it. The man, who admitted having been drinking, said he was “sick of fighting with her and dealing with her drinking.” The woman blew under the legal limit on a Breathylizer, agreed to leave and said she would seek a divorce. 

▲ KENNEDY POND ROAD — A man reported a suspicious incident, as well as simple assault and simple battery. Reports did not list details.

▲ MATTHEWS ROAD — A man was arrested after reportedly attacking a woman with a belt.


➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ FOOD WORLD/FAIR ROAD — A person was arrested for shoplifting three cartons of Newport cigarettes valued at $191. He was also charged in three other incidents, listed below.

▲ BI LO — A man was arrested for shoplifting two cases of beer valued at around $34.

▲ FLASH FOODS/FAIR ROAD — A man was arrested for fourth offense shoplifting after taking about $70 worth of Busch Light beer.

▲ ENMARK/NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — A person was arrested for shoplifting two cases of beer.

▲ 180 FITNESS — A man reportedly stole about $100 from a tip jar.

▲ JOHN’S PLACE — A man was arrested after being found to have made a “shank” (sharp weapon) from a floor tile.

▲ MORRIS STREET — A woman said her son punched her in the eye. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — A man and woman who engaged in a physical fight did not wish to press charges against each other.

▲ PACKINGHOUSE ROAD — A woman said someone “poked her in the head” and left the scene.

▲ SOUTH COLLEGE STREET — Someone reported a case of indecent exposure. Reports did not include further detail. No one was arrested at the time.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued four traffic citations and four traffic warnings and assisted no motorists. 

▲ COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING — Someone reported a suspicious person.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING — Someone was arrested on charges of marijuana possession with intent to distribute, possession of a gun in a school safety zone, and possession of a gun during commission of a crime.

Also, people were judicially referred to university authorities for discipline over a drug complaint and two alcohol violations.

▲ RUSSELL UNION — Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person.
