▲ ELDORA ROAD — A woman hired a plumber online, and he was paid over $600 for half the work. He returned and was paid over $1,600 for the rest of the work. She said he made her feel uncomfortable by calling her pretty, but she agreed to go to lunch with him. He cancelled, and she said she was having issues with the plumbing so she contacted the online site. She then discovered he was not a licensed plumber and had given her a different last name.

▲ FRANCES LANE — A woman said she suspects her landlord entered her home while she was away to retrieve items the landlord had left, and to do a home inspection.

▲ HIGHWAY 46 — A woman heard a shot fired and her dog yelp. She saw a suspect leaving on a golf cart and followed him. He showed her an Airsoft gun he used to shoot the dog. Animal control, who responded to the scene, said they were familiar with the man as well as the dog, who had a history of “getting after people.” They went to the man’s house but did not locate him. The dog was not visibly injured.

▲ BROOMSTRAW TRACE — An electricity company employee reported someone using power illegally, having tampered with a meter.

▲ STATESBORO HERALD — Someone received a call from a man claiming to be with a medical group who asked whether the complainant could hear them OK. The complainant said “yes” and the call ended. When dialed back, the same message was played. The call came from what appeared to be a Lyons, Ga., number. The complainant felt the call could have been a scam, recording her voice saying “yes,” and wanted a report for documentation purposes.

▲ NORTHSIDE DRIVE WEST — Someone reported a wallet with $300 lost or stolen.

▲ GENTILLY DRIVE — Someone reported window screens bent and damaged.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Officers responded to a domestic dispute that the parties involved (husband and wife) said was only verbal.

In a separate call involving different people, a woman told police a juvenile took an item from her purse.

▲ CHINESE KITCHEN — A man, who had previously been served with a criminal trespass warning, returned to the restaurant and was arrested.

▲ WEST MAIN STREET — A man said a verbal argument turned physical. Police arrested the offender on battery charges.

▲ DOLLAR GENERAL/FAIR ROAD — An employee reported a suspected shoplifting incident. Should the offender be located, they will be served with a criminal trespass warning, reports stated.

▲ BELK — A woman seen shoplifting clothing valued at $48 admitted to the deed, was issued a citation and allowed to leave.

▲ HIGHWAY 67 — A man said he was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown woman. She was arrested and taken to jail, charged with simple battery.
