STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
    Shantay Williams, 36, Gentilly Drive — suspended license, no proof of insurance, wanted person, giving false information.
    Gary Stringer, 35, Wildwood Villas — battery.

Incidents
    HOWARD JOHNSON’S — A woman told police an unknown man tried to force himself on her around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The incident is under investigation.
    WAL-MART — Police questioned a man found in the parking lot begging and soliciting after people reported him as suspicious just before 7 p.m. Monday. Two others were on the scene, a man and woman, who admitted having purchased $100 worth of food stamps from the suspect for $50. The offender was cited for begging and all three were asked to leave.
    WILDWOOD VILLAS — A man was arrested around 1 p.m. Sunday, after throwing items at his girlfriend, striking her and causing visible injuries.

Arrests
    Carl Antonio Mincey, 30, Frink Road — marijuana possession.
    Jonathan Michael Aldrich, 31, Rosemary Church Road, Millen — no driver’s license, expired tag.
    Patrick Vernon Boyle Jr., 48, Midland Boulevard, Shelbyville, Ky. — failure to register as a convicted sex offender.
    Quentin Truly, 20, New Gate Drive, Decatur, Ga. — underage possession of alcohol, loitering/prowling, possession of a pistol by a person under 21, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, public intoxication.

Incidents
    WALDEN LANE — A woman complained to deputies around 10:15 a.m. Monday that her sister yelled at her when walking in a family pond dam, and that her sister sent texts to several people about a relative who she said is a child molester. The two argued over a flooding issue and repairing a pond spillway.
    KYLE SORRELL ROAD — A woman told deputies around 2:15 p.m. Monday that she stopped to check something dragging under her truck and two men stopped beside her. She said a man was driving and a second man exited the vehicle, grabbed her by the ponytail, and slammed her head against the truck. The second man then grabbed her wallet, which she said contained $1,200, and they fled, she said.

Arrests
    None reported Monday.

Incidents
    Officers issued two traffic citations and one traffic warning and assisted five motorists Monday.
