Incidents
U.S. HIGHWAY 301 NORTH — (Claxton) Deputies assisted the Evans County Sheriff’s Office in locating a man who was wanted on a Bulloch County Superior Court bench warrant. At 11 a.m. Friday, Bulloch and Evans county deputies pulled into a residence and saw three females run inside from the front yard. Two of the females told deputies they didn’t know where the man was and gave conflicting stories. Deputies entered the back of the residence and found the man hiding in a bedroom closet, where he was trying to barricade himself. He was arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail.
POSSUM TROT COURT — (Brooklet) A woman told deputies at 11:40 p.m. Sunday that at approximately 7 a.m. Saturday, while she and her husband were holding a garage sale, a man appeared from out of the woods behind her residence. When she asked the man if she could help him, he cursed at her “for a moment,” then returned to the woods. On Sunday, the man appeared twice in her yard and was leaning against a car, cursed at her and walked back into the woods. A neighbor told deputies she had problems with a man like this last year and would contact the sheriff’s office when she could remember his name. The neighbor said the sheriff’s office did take the man into custody last year.
