INCIDENTS
Statesboro Police Department
SOUTH MAIN STREET — A woman reported someone knocked on her door and window, then opened her back door before fleeing.
Another person reported a stranger on their property who fled when spotted.
WILDOOD VILLAS — A woman called police about her unruly juvenile. Officers arrested the child, and the Department of Juvenile Justice directed them to return the child to parental custody after the arrest.
WAL-MART SUPERCENTER — A shoplifter was caught trying to steal about $216 worth of vehicle parts and accessories and $25 worth of clothing. He fled, leaving the merchandise.
Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office
DRAYTON LANE — A woman said she heard her car alarm go off and later found out three of her tires had been flattened.
OAKWOOD DRIVE — A man reported the theft of boards, metal chairs, metal skirting, a grill, staple guns and more from his home.
PARKER’S ENZONE — Deputies assisting with crowd control during the GSU homecoming game arrested several after they refused to obey orders to disperse. This occurred during more than one incident throughout the day.
CYPRESS LAKE ROAD — A woman home alone with her sister called 911 when a man kept knocking on her door. The man told deputies who arrived at the scene he had been in a traffic accident, his phone was dying and he was afraid for his life. He was under the influence of some kind of drug and kept asking for water, deputies said. The man refused to give a urine test. He was arrested.
KEVIN DEAL ROAD — A man reported a gun was stolen during a party he held.
COURTNEY WAY — A woman asked deputies to perform a welfare check on a man who would not answer a door. The man claimed that he was asleep, and claimed he had leg and arm pains and saw a woman in his room who was not there.
COLUMBUS DRIVE — A man heard a noise like a tap on his window, so he “racked a round” in his gun and heard someone in bushes outside. The next day he found screens removed from windows and called deputies.
LANGSTON CHAPEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL — School officials reported a suspicious woman who supplied incorrect information to pick up a student. They had never seen her before, and when they checked with the student’s parents, they said they had given no one permission to pick up their child and did not know who the woman could be. The suspicious woman was gone when they went back outside to inform her she could not pick the child up.
POJO’s/HIGHWAY 301 SOUTH — An employee was caught scanning unsold lottery tickets to see whether they were winners, then using the winnings to play non-scratch ticket lottery.
