Police Report - 1-30-13; Man refused to return a cellphone until his ex-girlfriend paid for a puppy

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
    Christina Balan Radila-Rodriguez, 23, U.S. Highway 301 North, Claxton — theft by shoplifting.
    Chinedu Terrell Nwachukwu, 22, Georgia Avenue — probation violation.
    Andrew Lamar Donaldson, 48, South Main Street — wanted person.
    Kenneth James Hall Lewis, 30, Effingham Highway, Sylvania — wanted person.

Incidents
    INMAN LANE — A woman who had been arguing with her husband picked up a stick and poked him in the arm, so he called police.
    PROCTOR STREET — After a woman spent all day at another man’s house, her husband put all her clothes on the porch. She told police she was at her cousin’s house and put her husband’s clothes out after finding her own on the porch.
    THE GRILL — A woman angry over relationship issues between her son and another female struck the other female repeatedly, causing a laceration, and then pulled a quantity of the other woman’s hair out.
    WALMART — Two women fought in the parking lot over Facebook posts one made about the other. The incident was captured on surveillance video.
    BIRD LANE — A woman reported a suspect using her debit card without permission and said the offender stole a large amount of jewelry and pawned it.
    UNIVERSITY VILLAGE AT SOUTHERN — A man refused to return a cellphone until his ex-girlfriend paid for a puppy.
    VISTA CIRCLE — A woman and her son argued about his moving out, and he cursed and threw tires into the roadway.
    WORN THREADS — While going through donated items, someone found a bag of what police said was marijuana.
    WALMART — A woman was arrested for shoplifting bed sheets, panty hose and an umbrella. Another woman was arrested for stealing Hot Tamales candy and lip gloss. A man was caught shoplifting $12 worth of clothes and toothpaste.
    GARFIELD  STREET — A man struck a woman in the face with a beer can as she stood in the roadway.
    SUMMIT APARTMENTS — A woman reported receiving harassing phone calls from her ex-husband.
    STILES INN — A man and woman argued over her talking to other men. When police responded, they found the man was wanted on outstanding probation warrants.
    NORTHSIDE APARTMENTS — A woman reported being harassed via Internet.
    GARFIELD STREET — A man was injured during an attack. He declined EMS treatment and refused to cooperate with officers trying to investigate.
    JAMES STREET — A TV and DVDs were stolen.
    BIRD ROAD — A woman received 11 calls and three texts from a man she told not to bother her.
    JOHN’S PLACE — A patient struck two employees and threatened to harm himself.
    UNIVERSITY VILLAGE AT SOUTHERN — A man and woman got into a shoving match over money he said she owed him, but she said she did not.
    MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DRIVE — A woman said a man grabbed her 6-year-old son and threw him away from his scooter.
    PEACHTREE STREET — Someone cut a chain-link fence and support posts, causing extensive damage.

Arrests
    Officers issued five traffic citations Monday.
 
Incidents
    Officers issued seven traffic warnings and assisted four motorists.
    EAGLE VILLAGE — GSU officers and the Statesboro Fire Department responded to a fire alarm.  The building was checked and it was determined that a resident was trying to use an electric griddle and set off the alarm.
    KENNEDY HALL — A resident burning food caused GSU officers and the Statesboro Fire Department to respond to a fire alarm.   There was no fire. 
    CAMPUS CROSSINGS — Officers assisted Statesboro Police Department with a report of an armed robbery at Campus Crossings.  A man in a bandana and one in a clown mask robbed a Jimmy Johns delivery man at gunpoint.

    Candler County Sheriff’s Department — 10 calls.
    Evans County Sheriff’s Department — six calls.
    Claxton Police Department — no calls.

    Central 911 dispatchers issued the following calls Monday:
    Statesboro Fire Department — four calls. 
    Bulloch County Volunteer Firefighters — three calls.
    Claxton Fire Department — two calls.

    Central 911 dispatchers issued the following calls Monday:
    Bulloch County EMS — five accident calls, two rescue calls and 22 medical calls.
    Candler County EMS — four medical calls.
    Evans County EMS — three medical calls.
 
    Central 911 dispatchers also routed the following calls Monday: three calls to Bulloch County First Responders, two miscellaneous calls, three calls to Air Evac and a call to the Bulloch County coroner.
