Teen arrested on burglary charges after salon incident
Police: Search turns up stolen items at home

A teen caught on video stealing a purse and electronics from a local salon was arrested after a victim spotted him riding a bike the next day.
Statesboro Police officers responded to a reported burglary Thursday at 30 Volume Salon on Gentilly Road, said Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner.
A woman said surveillance video caught Darren Jarrod Stanley, 17, Prince Way, in the act of breaking in a back door around 4:15 p.m. and stealing a purse and electronic items, he said.
The next day, an employee spotted Stanley riding a bicycle on Brannen Street and called police he said. 
After officers found some of the stolen items at Stanley’s home, they arrested him on burglary charges. He was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he is being held pending further court action and possibly additional charges, Turner said.
Earlier last week, a woman at U-Save Auto Rental reported confronting a man who entered the back door of that business and said he was seeking a job. According to reports, she saw he had something under his shirt and asked The offender tossed her wallet at her, which he had taken from her purse, then fled, she said.
Turner did not say the two similar cases were related, but said the investigation is not yet complete.
