INCIDENTS

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ JOHNSON DRIVE — A man called the  Sheriff’s Office when he could not find his wife. Her car was home, but she was gone. She was supposed to be watching their son, and he said she suffered from an altered mental status. The woman was found in another location and said she was just stressed and needed time away. Both she and the son were safe.

▲ HERSCHEL DRIVE — A highly intoxicated woman reported a vehicle stolen. Deputies found the vehicle nearby and it appeared it had struck a tree, causing slight damage. The woman said she thought a male friend drove her home from the bar, but he denied doing so. She said she didn’t know how her car came to be where it was found.

▲ SWALLOWTAIL DRIVE — A woman told deputies a female driving a white Lexus keeps driving past her house, and she feels the woman wants to steal her dogs. She said the woman, whose name she did not know but knew her address, asked to buy the dogs once.

▲ STATESBORO HIGH SCHOOL — A student told counselors her eye hurt because her father struck her in the eye. School authorities notified deputies as well as social case workers.


➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ PROCTOR STREET — A man was arrested on battery charges after police responded to a call about a man trying to get into a house.

▲ COLLEGE PLAZA — A woman called police after finding a man “going through her clothes bag.” Officers spoke to the man, learning he had three outstanding warrants after running a check on him. The man, faced with a pending arrest, fled but was apprehended and arrested on outstanding warrant charges.

In a separate case, employees of a discount store argued with one of the employee’s boyfriend, who threatened them.

▲ STATESBORO PLACE CIRCLE — Two people fought and someone called police. Each person said the other struck them in the face, but neither had visible injuries. Both were given information on taking warrants.

▲ DENMARK STREET — Officers arrested a man for involvement in a simple battery/family violence case.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — A man said someone entered his home without permission, threatened and pushed him and others.

▲ SOUTHERN BILLIARD AND BURGERS — A person who had been served a criminal trespass warning previously was found on the premises and arrested.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued four traffic citations and three traffic warnings and assisted eight motorists.

▲ RUSSELL UNION — Someone reported a suspicious person/activities.

▲ UNIVERSITY VILLAS — Officers responded to and are investigating a reported rape. No further information was immediately available Friday.

▲ EAGLE VILLAGE — Someone filed a drug complaint. No arrests were made.

In a separate case, a person was judicially referred to university authorities for underage possession of alcohol and possession of a false ID. The person was not arrested.

▲ G LOT — A person was judicially referred to university authorities for public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol and possession of a false ID. The person was not arrested.

▲ GENTILLY ROAD — A person was charged with driving while intoxicated.
