School supply giveaway Friday at County Annex
school

The Bulloch County Board of Commissioners and staff-hosted “School Supply Giveaway” is being held Friday, July 26 beginning at 9 a.m. in the county’s North Main Annex, 115 North Main St., Statesboro.

This is not a tax-funded event. Instead, Tyshea Lee has, this year as last at back-to-school time, organized county employees to bring in school supplies or donate money for purchasing them. The school supplies, while they last, are free to any students in local schools, public, private or home.

“We’ll have 250 bags to distribute, first-come/first-served beginning at 9 a.m.,” states a media release from Dal Cannady, communications director for the board of commissioners.

Commissioners and some other elected county officials were among those who donated last year.
