Police report, 8/15
Two women argued because one parked her car so close to the other one’s car, there was no room to get in. One woman banged on the other’s door, and was holding a baseball bat, so the victim called deputies.

▲ BROOKLET-DENMARK ROAD — A woman said someone struck and damaged her trash can.

▲ STILSON-LEEFIELD ROAD — A man said juveniles rode a four-wheeler through his cotton field, causing damage.

▲ WALLACE WIGGINS LANE — A woman called deputies because her boyfriend was intoxicated and she wanted him to leave.

▲ STEEPLECHASE COURT — Two women argued because one parked her car so close to the other one’s car, there was no room to get in. One woman banged on the other’s door, and was holding a baseball bat, so the victim called deputies.

▲ LANCELOT COURT — Deputies shut down a large party with evidence of alcohol (trash, plastic cups, beer cans and boxes) and about 100 people with many cars lining the streets.

▲ ROCKY FORD ROAD — A woman told deputies she befriended a man on Facebook, thinking it was someone she knows, but then learned it was not him. She feels it is a person she knows who is trying to “call her out” over her and the man having “extramarital activities.”


➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ BRAMPTON AVENUE — Someone reported the possible theft of credit and debit or gift cards, a small amount of cash and a cellphone.

▲ CHURCH STREET — A man and woman argued about their child, and each claimed the other struck them during the confrontation.

▲ ORANGE STREET — A man and his son engaged in a verbal dispute and someone called police.

▲ VARIOUS LOCATIONS — Officers investigated 10 accidents Monday.

▲ SOUTH MAIN STREET — A man reported a TV was damaged by a hotel guest.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued three traffic citations and three traffic warnings and assisted four motorists.

▲ K LOT — Someone reported a suspicious person.

▲ MATH/PHYSICS BUILDING — Someone reported a theft.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING — Officers assisted Statesboro police on an unspecified call.

▲ CENTENNIAL PLACE — Officers responded to a drug complaint. There was no arrest.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Someone was arrested on charges of DUI and failure to maintain lane.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers investigated 13 crashes resulting in three reported injuries, and arrested 14 on charges of driving under the influence.

▲ Troopers also issued the following: 14 citations and 14 warnings for seat belt violations; four citations and one warning for child restraint violations; 43 citations and 48 warnings for speeding.
