➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ BOOKS-A-MILLION — Someone entered the store and threw several objects at an employee before grabbing her by the arm. The suspect was gone when police arrived.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — A man called police because he and a woman were arguing and he wanted her to leave.

▲ THE VAULT APARTMENTS — Several callers dialed 911 to report shots fired, but responding officers found no suspects, witnesses, damage or injuries.

▲ HIGHWAY 67 — A person was charged with battery after causing visible injuries to another.

 

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office 

▲ BURKHALTER ROAD — A man said his bank notified him of six forged checks, made payable to three individuals, in excess of a total of $5,000.

▲ BROOMSTRAW TRACE — A deputy served an unwanted person with a criminal trespass warning and escorted him to a location in Statesboro.

▲ JW LANE — Someone reported a felony theft. Reports did not disclose details of the incident.

▲ STILSON-LEEFIELD ROAD — A man was arrested on disorderly conduct charges after someone reported him chasing a car on foot and yelling at the driver.

▲ BURKHALTER ROAD — A person reported the theft of bicycles. An offender was seen taking them from the yard and placing them in a vehicle.

▲ ADEN LANIER ROAD — A man complained that a neighbor would not return his borrowed lawn mower. The neighbor said he was holding it because the complainant owed him money. He agreed to return the mower, but when he did, the complainant called deputies and said the other man threatened him.

▲ MIXON ROAD — Deputies responded to a call about property damage. The call was listed as arson and was turned over to investigations, reports stated.

▲ MARCELLA’S COMMUNITY SAFE HOUSE/SHUMAN ROAD — Deputies responded to a dispute between juveniles in which someone threw a TV.

▲ DEER RUN ROAD — A man reported being assaulted while riding an ATV. Deputies met with him at the hospital and turned the case over to the criminal investigations division.

▲ BAY 8 CUSTOMS — Someone reported a burglary.

▲ WELLINGTON CIRCLE — A man reported the theft of bicycles.

▲ WESTBROOKE COURT — Someone reported a burglary.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers responded to 24 crashes with 12 reported injuries. 

▲ Troopers arrested 15 drivers on DUI charges and issued nine citations and three warnings for seatbelt violations, three citations and one warning for child restraint violations, and six citations and 29 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Friday through Sunday, officers issued 23 traffic citations and 13 traffic warnings and assisted four motorists.

▲ FOREST DRIVE — Someone was charged with tag light violation and suspended license.

▲ CHANDLER ROAD — Someone was charged with driving too fast for conditions and driving without a valid license.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Officers charged someone with DUI, reckless driving and open container.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES APARTMENTS — Someone reported a rape.

▲ MALECKI DRIVE — Officers charged a person as a wanted person and with several other traffic offenses.
