Police report, 5/10/19
A woman said she was scammed by a person claiming to be an investigator. The caller convinced her to buy gift cards and give him access to their numbers.

CORRECTION

A report of a domestic dispute occurring May 4 involving an arrest incorrectly listed the location as the W.W. Mann Retreat Center. The incident actually took place at a nearby location, the W.W. Mann Mobile Home Park.

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ DRY BRANCH VILLAGE — A woman received a call from someone claiming to be with Charter Spectrum, a New York cable company, stating she was  overdue on her account by about $840. She doesn’t have an account with them, but someone opened an account in her name and she listed a suspect’s name in reports.

▲ STILSON ROAD — Deputies responded to complaints between roommates; one wanted the other to move out. Arguments involved social media posts, phone calls from one roommate’s father and rules that were not followed.

▲ WIMBLEDON COURT — Someone reported the theft of a firearm from a vehicle.

▲ CLITO/BEEBEE ROADS — A driver failed to stop for a deputy pulling him over for a traffic violation. The driver fled, then abandoned the vehicle and ran into the woods. Warrants were issued.

▲ ASH BRANCH CHURCH ROAD — Deputies responded to a domestic dispute and gave involved parties information on seeking warrants.

▲ BULLOCH STREET — A man reported an entering auto case where property valued at $50 was reported stolen.

▲ SOUTH MAIN STREET — Someone reported being harassed.

▲ NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — A woman said she was scammed by a person claiming to be an investigator. The caller convinced her to buy gift cards and give him access to their numbers.

▲ JEWEL DRIVE — A man reported a neighbor threatened him.
