Police report, 11/6/18
A man said he was shooting at targets in his yard when another man passed by and fired shots out of his vehicle. The complainant said he thought he heard the “snap” of a bullet pass near him.

▲ PIKE ROAD — A woman told deputies another female harasses her via wi-fi, using “microwaves” to threaten her and her family. She said the radio waves are “trying to keep her from Georgia Southern University” and are transferring money from her account.

▲ R.E. LEE ROAD — A man reported the theft of several tools from an unsecured trailer.

▲ WEST RUSHING ROAD — Deputies served two men with criminal trespass warnings at the landowner’s request.

▲ BAY TREE LANE — A man said his child’s mother comes to his home uninvited, and recently came to honk the horn outside, demanding to know where her son was. The man’s current wife told her the child was in school and to leave. 

▲ HIGHWAY 301 SOUTH — A man reported a burglary during which a firearm was stolen.

▲ OLD PORTAL ROAD — A man said he was shooting at targets in his yard when another man passed by and fired shots out of his vehicle. The complainant said he thought he heard the “snap” of a bullet pass near him.

▲ MILLER STREET EXTENSION — A man and woman argued over his suspicions that she was cheating on him with an old boyfriend. The woman said the man threatened to kill her, but he denied making that statement.

▲ JONES MILL ROAD — A woman said someone illegally dumped a couch and other items on her property.


➤ Statesboro Police Department 

▲ STAMBUK LANE — A man reported damage to his vehicle and said he suspects someone he knows caused it.

▲ LANIER DRIVE — Officers responded to a domestic dispute.

▲ THE HUDSON APARTMENTS — Police are investigating an armed robbery. 

▲ ENMARKET/FAIR ROAD — A clerk was robbed at gunpoint.

▲ BUTLER HOMES — Police arrested one and issued warrants on another after responding to a reported harassing communications call. The person in custody was wanted on outstanding warrants.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers investigated 28 crashes with 17 reported injuries and charged 10 drivers with DUI.

▲ Troopers also issued seven citations and six warnings for seat belt violations, one citation and one warning for child restraint violations, and 14 citations and 33 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Officers issued five traffic citations and one traffic warning and assisted four motorists.

▲ KENNEDY HALL — Officers and firefighters responded to a fire.
