Georgia Southern expects to sign as many as 30 football players to letters of intent today, National Signing Day.
Among the signees could be Mount Dora (Fla.) quarterback Vegas Harley, who has narrowed his college choices to GSU and Memphis, a member of the Football Bowl Subdivision, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Deltona (Fla.) Trinity Christian quarterback Paxton Lynch on Saturday verbally committed to Memphis and Harley could be leaning toward signing with GSU, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Harley, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds according to Scout.com, was named Florida's Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Florida-Georgia War of the Border game in Valdosta.
"Southern just runs a lot more of an offense that is just like what he does and he could be phenomenal in that offense," Mount Dora head coach Chad Grabowski told the Orlando Sentinel.
Harley is ranked No. 48 in the country as an athlete by Rivals.com. Harley passed and rushed for more than 1,000 yards the past two seasons. He ran for 1,351 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.
On Jan. 23, Harley wrote on Twitter.com, "Georgia Southern is showing me a good time." Friday, he tweeted that he couldn't wait to see how Memphis looked during an official visit.
