Obituary - Mr. Martin Willard Schaper
Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory
Mr. Martin Willard Schaper
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Martin Willard Schaper passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 66 years old. He went to be with the Lord in the arms of his beloved wife at his home.
Marty met his wife, Linda, in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1986.
He was an amazing husband for 36 years and incredible father to his three children.
His pride and joy was his family. He was the life of the party and ridiculously hilarious. If you were lucky enough to know him, Marty undoubtedly made a profound impact on your life.
His work ethic was unparalleled. He was the most exceptional example of integrity and generosity, expecting nothing in return.
His greatest joys were working in his yard, good wine on a boat ride, learning how to fish with the help of his friends and projects with his wife to make his home in Statesboro, Georgia, a slice of paradise.
Marty was born to Dolores and Frederick Schaper on December 14, 1956.
He attended St. Johns College and State University of New York.
He began his career as an on-site accountant in the construction industry at Fru-Con in Ballwin, Missouri, where he worked for 26 years.
During this time, he spent seven years in Taiwan working for Bilfinger & Berger as a financial manager during the construction of the MRT Chung Ho Line subway system. For the next 10 years, Marty worked for Alberici as CFO and CAO in St Louis, Mo. He continued as CFO for HA Sack Company in Statesboro, Ga., for nearly seven years.
He treasured his time at HA Sack in the “Boro” as it provided him a family away from home.
He is survived by his wife, Linda J. Schaper; his triplet children, Jackson, Allison and Madison Schaper; and his siblings, Marian Moon (nee Schaper), Janet Schaper and James Schaper. He was a dearly beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind countless friends and memories he collected over the years.
