Mr. John Raymond Bryant, age 58, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Augusta University Medical Center. Mr. Bryant was born on November 19, 1960, in Chicago, Ill., to Mr. Julias William Bryant and Mrs. Joyce Howard Bryant.

John started working at an early age. At 14 years old, he got his first job working at Bruno's Bakery in Chicago, where he would mix the specialty breads.

John moved to Metter, Georgia, and worked in construction, even talked his way into working as a bulldozer operator at age 18 years.

He moved back to Chicago to start working for his father and then for Waste Management-Chicago, a larger waste management company.

After working in Chicago for several years, he relocated again to Georgia and established South Georgia Recycling Inc. and a waste management company in Tifton (with a partner). Later, selling his interests in that company, he relocated South Georgia Recycling Inc. to Birmingham, Ala., where he also established Power Waste Inc., a waste management company, and Power Tire, a commercial tire establishment.

After several successful years, he sold both companies and relocated to Emanuel County, where he remained involved in the construction industry with various construction projects prior to becoming a building inspector for Twin City.

He also had part interest in various other enterprises supporting the construction industry.

During his time in Twin City, John was active for many years with the Twin City Lion's Club, where he served as president for two years.

In 2018, John married Brownie Childs and moved to Statesboro, where he and his partner, Randy Childs, established Eagle Restrooms. Eagle Restrooms has been instrumental in hurricane relief throughout the South, Katrina and the Bahamas. In fact, John spent several months living in Panama City, assisting with the clean-up after Hurricane Michael.

John dedicated his life to improving the cities he lived. His interests and hobbies were work and more work, the outdoors and Georgia football.

When he met Brownie, he told her he was retired. But he couldn't sit still and had to create yet another company.

John will be significantly missed by his friends and family. His grandchildren will miss their "Pa-Pa" and "John John."

He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his son, Randall Bryant; a grandson, Deandre Bryant; and his brother, James William Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Brownie Childs Bryant of Statesboro; his three daughters, Patricia Lynn Bryant Korzeniowski, Denise Marie Bryant and Krystle Lynne Rasinskis; grandchildren, Blaze Bryant, Evelyn Bryant, Kaylee Rasinskis and Gracelynn Rasinskis; and his siblings, Robert Bryant, Edna Davalos, Sandra Bryant, Jim Jewell, Shelly Jewell, Mary Oguinn and Tammy Tedesco. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 

10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

The funeral will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be John Cowart, Julian Durden, Clark Dixon, Blaze Bryant, Mike Bitrano and Fred Grabenstein.
