Mr. Robert L. “Bobby” Masters
Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory
Lewis Albert "Al" Raulerson, PhD
Mr. Robert L. “Bobby” Masters went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 23, 2019.
He was born on August 8, 1955, and raised in Jacksonville, Fla.
In May of 1977, Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Alford.
A job on a logging crew with Union Camp brought them to Savannah, Ga., where they resided for 15 years. After Union Camp terminated its logging operations, Bobby worked his remaining years as a truck driver with various companies and as an equipment operator with a wood recycling company.
The family later moved to Effingham County, where they enjoyed a friendly close-knit community for 11 years.
After their two children graduated, he and his wife moved to Metter, Ga., where they were excited for the nice quiet country life on their 10 acres.
He always enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and doing yard work. As of late, Bobby’s favorite pastime was karaoke and he was quite the singer.
Bobby was a tireless worker, but his greatest pride was his family. In his final days of a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, he made extra efforts to tell each of his loved ones how proud he was of them.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Elvia and Marilene Masters; and two brothers, John Baker and Charles Masters.
Survivors include Trish, his wife of 41 years; daughter, Jennifer (Joe) Butler; son, Logan Sr. (Charity) Masters; seven grandchildren, Addison, Ansley and Charlotte Butler, Madison, Blair, Logan Jr. and Landon Masters.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 2nd, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral will be held following visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Forrest Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in his memory.
