Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a man in connection to a Tuesday homicide in Evans County. Demeris J. Mills, 29, of Claxton, had not yet been charged with any offense as of Thursday afternoon, but was arrested “in connection with the fight that led to” the stabbing death of James R. Mills, 35, also of Claxton, said Statesboro GBI Special Agent Cyrus Purdiman. The fight involved several people, he said.
