A man was flown to Savannah for treatment after having eaten a "substantial amount of Carolina Jasmine, which is a vine that is toxic to humans and can cause death," reports stated.

▲ HAYES LAKE ROAD — A man was flown to Savannah for treatment after having eaten a "substantial amount of Carolina Jasmine, which is a vine that is toxic to humans and can cause death," reports stated.

▲ JOHN GODLEY LANE — Someone reported a burglary in which several items were taken.

▲ BRANNEN POND/CLEARY ROADS — A man said he was fishing when he heard gunshots in close proximity. He saw a small gray car drive slowly past and heard another shot. He was unable to get a tag number.

▲ COURTNEY WAY — A man said he suspected another man, who previously lived with him, stole a GPS system. He said he had found other items of his in the other man's truck in the past.

▲ JOINER ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME — Someone reported the theft of undisclosed items.

▲ NORTH JACKSON ROAD — A man was found with a laceration to the arm after deputies performed a welfare check on him. He was intoxicated, and in spite of an outstanding warrant, due to his injury, he was not arrested at the time but taken to the hospital. He was arrested at a later time.


➤ Statesboro Police Department 

▲ THE GEORGE — Two women argued over watching each other's dogs, and one struck the other in the head. Officers gave the victim information on seeking warrants.

▲ EAST PARRISH STREET — A man was arrested after police responded to a domestic dispute complaint.

▲ STATESBORO DEALS — Someone took a blue Hyundai Elantra from the lot without permission. The car was found in another jurisdiction.

▲ DOLLAR GENERAL/FAIR ROAD — A woman was arrested for shoplifting feminine products, laundry detergent and lipstick.

▲ BELK — A person was arrested for shoplifting a $34 shirt.

▲ JOHNSON STREET — An officer responded to a verbal dispute.


➤ Georgia State Patrol Post 45

▲ Last week, troopers investigated 22 crashes resulting in 12 reported injuries. Three drivers were charged with DUI.

▲ Troopers also issued 17 citations and three warnings for seat belt violations, four citations for child restraint violations, and 27 citations and 34 warnings for speeding.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Officers issued eight traffic citations and six traffic warnings and assisted 10 motorists.
