Police report, 9/13
An irate customer who called a clerk a vulgar name and invited her to come outside to fight threw a drink on the clerk when the clerk came outside to get the offender’s tag number.

INCIDENTS

➤ Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

▲ MILL CREEK PARK — Someone found contraband (not described in reports) at the park. Deputies confiscated the item.

▲ HERSCHEL DRIVE — A man reported the theft of a Thomas Disposal trash receptacle.

▲ PAMELA WAY — A man reported a theft, but media releases did not list the item taken.

▲ PARKER’S/HIGHWAY 301 SOUTH — An irate customer who called a clerk a vulgar name and invited her to come outside to fight threw a drink on the clerk when the clerk came outside to get the offender’s tag number.

▲ BURKHALTER TRAILER PARK — A man said his girlfriend got angry when he blocked her on social media, and she hit him. He said he hit her back with a hairbrush. The woman said the man was mad because she would not change her relationship status on Facebook for him and he struck her with a pole. The man said the woman bent his credit card, and deputies saw it on the floor, folded. Neither were arrested.


➤ Statesboro Police Department

(Reports from Friday through Tuesday)

▲ DEBBIE DRIVE — A woman involved in a domestic argument was able to escape from a chokehold by biting a man on the arm. The man was arrested.

▲ SOUTH MULBERRY STREET — A resident reported someone opened a back door using a screwdriver.

▲ CITY OF STATESBORO — The SPD Impact Team is investigating reports of drug activity at an undisclosed location.

▲ LESTER ROAD/STATESBORO HIGH SCHOOL — Someone reported a missing juvenile.

▲ FAIR ROAD — A person was arrested on charges of battery/family violence.

▲ JOHNSON STREET — A person who had been served in the past with a criminal trespass warning for the location returned and damaged a car. The person was arrested.

In a separate call, a woman said she received harassing calls from someone threatening to damage her car and kill her and her kids.

▲ KNIGHT DRIVE — Someone reported a burglary during which someone stole gaming systems, controllers and video games.

▲ CHANDLER ROAD — A taxi driver called police when a person refused to leave the cab and then punched the vehicle.

In a separate case, two women were arrested for fighting in a parking lot.

▲ THE VAULT APARTMENTS — A shell casing was found after someone reported hearing three gunshots fired. No one was injured, and suspects were not found.

▲ STATESBORO PLACE CIRCLE — Someone reported a Nissan Sentra stolen.

▲ NORTH LEWIS STREET — A man said a friend attacked him, causing visible injuries. The suspect was gone upon arrival.

▲ SHELBY STREET — A suspect was arrested on battery charges.

▲ VALLEY ROAD — A man was arrested after a woman said he assaulted her during an argument.

▲ NASSAU DRIVE — Someone reported the theft of a laptop computer.

▲ INSTITUTE STREET — A woman said a man threatened to kill her.

▲ WORLD’S BEST AUTO — Someone left without paying for a tire they chose and had mounted on a vehicle.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police

▲ Officers issued two traffic citations and nine traffic warnings and assisted five motorists Tuesday.

▲ AGENCY ASSIST — GSU K9 officers assisted Statesboro police on an unspecified call at a Northside Drive address. Officers also assisted SPD on unspecified calls on South Main Street and Fair Road. 

▲ BISHOP ALUMNI HOUSE — Officers responded to a report of an injured person.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES APARTMENTS — Officers responded to a drug complaint.
