Incidents
CANARY LANE — (Statesboro) A woman called deputies after seeing a human figure standing outside a window.
GENTILLY DRIVE — (Statesboro) A man who failed to yield during a left turn and almost struck a sheriff’s investigator’s car told deputies he had three beers and two shots. He wore wristbands from several local bars and failed sobriety tests, resulting in a DUI charge.
LAGOON ROAD — (Statesboro) A man struck a woman in the face during an argument over his excessive drinking. During a physical struggle, she kneed him in the face, she said.
WEST WATERS ROAD — (Clito) A woman was arrested after a custody dispute. The man involved said he took children down the road so they would not be exposed to an altercation exacerbated by the woman’s drinking. The woman, who is the children’s mother, denied making threats to kill others despite witnesses saying she did. When deputies were called back to the scene for further conflict, the woman said everybody hated her and was still uncooperative, so she was charged with disorderly conduct.
NORTH JACKSON ROAD — (Statesboro) A man had a party in the subdivision, with more than 300 guests whose cars blocked traffic. He was informed the party was over, people had to leave, and that gatherings of that size were a safety hazard.
CARRINGTON SOUTH — (Statesboro) A vehicle stolen from Florida was located, and the recovered SUV might be linked to a local vehicle theft. Investigators are looking further into the incidents.
GEORGIA HIGHWAY 24/FIVE CHOP ROAD — (Statesboro) A man ran a stop sign, causing a sheriff’s deputy and Statesboro police officer to brake and maneuver into other lanes to avoid crashing. When the deputy pulled the man over, he had a shotgun on his leg and a rifle in the vehicle. He was arrested for DUI.
