    John Frederick Wigand, 30, Jim Futch Road, Pembroke — theft by taking, public intoxication.
    MAXWAY — Sometime between Feb. 28 and March 1, someone stole 30 rose seedling plants valued at $105.
    EAST MAIN STREET — Police responded to a report of a man assaulting a juvenile around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Warrants were sought for his arrest and Department of Family and Children Services caseworkers are investigating the incident.
    BALDWIN STREET — A woman told police a man struck her in the face and slammed her head against concrete around 1:37 a.m. Wednesday.  She showed visible injuries, and officers swore out warrants for his arrests.
    SOUTH CITY PUB — A man was seen taking $130 from a woman’s purse and $15 from a tip jar around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. When people tried to stop him, a fight ensued. The offender, who was arrested on theft by taking and public intoxication charges, told police an unknown man hit him. He suffered a bloody nose.
    Kelvin Antwone Anderson, 36, Boggs Street, Claxton — possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, sale of cocaine.
    Willie Melvin Jones, 23, Lanier Drive — marijuana possession with intent to distribute, probation violation.
    Jeremy Ryan Parrish, 35, Old Register Road — reckless driving.
    Christopher Lyn Elliott, 43, Old River Road North — battery, obstructing emergency phone calls.
    Sonya Leigh Ramsey, 39, U.S. Highway 301 North — simple battery.
    Barry Michael Wilson, 36, U.S. Highway 301 North — simple battery.

    OLD RIVER ROAD NORTH — (Statesboro) After a woman called 911 and hung up around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies located the vehicle in which she was a passenger. The woman said a man who was with her beat her and threw her on the ground in a cemetery. Deputies noted her injuries and saw blood on the man as well, and arrested him on battery charges as well as interference with an emergency phone call.
    NATURE’S WAY — (Statesboro) Deputies spoke with a man who said an unknown black male with long hair in a light colored vehicle shot him in the leg around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. The investigation continues. The victim was treated at the hospital for his injury.

    On Tuesday, troopers investigated four crashes with no reported injuries, stopped 22 vehicles, patrolled 285 miles, assisted one motorist and issued the following: one seat belt citation, four speeding citations and 12 speeding warnings.

    Officers issued 10 traffic citations, eight traffic warnings and assisted seven motorists Tuesday.
