A man and woman were arrested after being caught trying to fill prescription medications for a person who is deceased.

➤ Statesboro Police Department

▲ NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — A man and woman were arrested after being caught trying to fill prescription medications for a person who is deceased.

▲ BELK — Someone stole a $40 pair of sweatpants. Police gave the complainant information on seeking warrants, as the person was not detained at the scene.

▲ COWBOYS BAR — A man who had previously been served with a criminal trespass warning for the bar returned, and was arrested.

▲ DURHAM SPORTS — A person was caught on video shoplifting a$75 pair of Nike Quest shoes. The person was not yet apprehended when the report was filed.

▲ SOLOMAN CIRCLE — A woman said she transferred money to an unknown person online with an expectation of receiving more money in return. She did not receive any money back.

▲ EAGLE COURT CONDOMINIUMS — Officers issued warrants for a man after a woman said he struck and kicked her several times during an argument.

▲ SUCCESS COURT — A woman said a person “ran after her in a threatening manner.”

▲ MILLER STREET EXTENSION — Someone reported a burglary.

▲ OLD STAGECOACH ROAD — Investigators are currently involved in pursuing an investigation into a possible armed robbery.

▲ KENNEDY BRIDGE ROAD — Deputies responded to an aggravated assault, which remains under investigation.

▲ PIONEER TRAIL — During a dispute over purchase of a vehicle, a woman claimed a man tried to touch her breasts and a man complained of chest pains.


➤ Georgia Southern University Police 

▲ Thursday, officers issued one traffic citation and two traffic warnings and assisted five motorists.

▲ Friday through Sunday, officers issued 13 traffic citations and three traffic warnings and assisted five motorists.

▲ RUSSELL UNION — Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. In a separate incident, officers investigated a reported theft.

▲ SOUTHERN PINES — Someone reported a theft.

▲ LOT 41 — Someone reported a suspicious person.

▲ G-LOT — A student was judicially refer to university authorities, but not criminally charged, for an alcohol violation. 

▲ FOREST DRIVE — A person was cited for underage possession of alcohol, possession of a fraudulent ID, and possession/use of drug-related objects.

▲ CENTENNIAL PLACE — A student was not criminally charged, but judicially referred to university authorities for discipline over a drug complaint and alcohol violation. In a separate incident officers responded to a drug complaint.

▲ EAGLE VILLAGE — Someone reported a suspicious person.

▲ CAMBRIDGE/THE PALMS — Officers helped Statesboro police with a disorderly person.

▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING — A student was judicially referred, but not criminally charged, for underage possession of alcohol, possession of a fraudulent ID and other alcohol violations.

▲ UNIVERSITY VILLAS — Someone reported a suspicious person.
