A raid at a Statesboro home Monday by the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Team resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizing of numerous firearms, drugs and cash.
According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, the Suppression Team conducted an investigation into the illegal sale of controlled substances going on in and around a residence on South Mulberry Street.
"The investigation led to a search warrant being obtained and executed on Monday by CST investigators and BCSO K9 deputies," the release stated. "The search warrant yielded quantities of marijuana, prescription pills, psilocybin mushrooms, US Currency and numerous firearms and edged weapons."
As a result, the following persons were arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail:
- David Elijah George, 23, of the South Mulberry Street address is charged with six counts possession of firearm or knife during commission of certain felonies, four counts sale of marijuana, possession with intent of marijuana possession with intent of Schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent of Schedule II controlled substance, four counts use of communication facility in commission of felony involving controlled substances, possession of drug related objects.
- Taylor Edward Thornhill, 23, of the South Mulberry Street address is charged with five counts possession of firearm or knife during commission of certain felonies, possession of Schedule II controlled substance.
"I would like to encourage citizens to contact the Crime Suppression Team with any complaints of drug activity that you may suspect," Sheriff Noel Brown said in the release. "All complaints will remain anonymous and will be investigated thoroughly."
