Bulloch County Schools students in third through eighth grade will take the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests beginning Monday and ending April 9.
You can help your child do their best on test days by encouraging them and by being sure they have a good night’s rest, a nourishing breakfast and arrive to school on time.
Reading, English language arts, math, science and social studies are the areas that will be tested. The Georgia Department of Education has developed a specific set of academic expectations for each grade level. The CRCTs are designed to measure how well our students are learning these academic skills and their progress so that we can better know how to meet their education needs.
The CRCTs are even more important for third-, fifth- and eighth-grade students, because they must pass specific sections of the CRCT to be promoted to the next grade. Bulloch County Schools will provide remediation and review opportunities for students in these grades who do not pass the first administration of these tests. The district will also provide an opportunity to retake the appropriate section of the test in May.
Third-grade students must pass the CRCT reading test, and fifth- and eighth-grade students must pass the CRCT reading and math tests.
