The Rev. Francys Johnson and Dr. Meca Johnson
    The Rev. Francys Johnson and Dr. Meca Renee Williams–Johnson announce their public wedding reception on November 18, 2006.
    The couple was married in a private summer ceremony officiated by the Rev. Charles L. White Jr. in Ellenwood, Ga. They honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
    The bride, a native of Lafayette, La., is the daughter of Willard Williams of Baton Rogue, La., and Iris Wiresinger of Denver, Colo. The groom is the son of Justine Taylor Slaughter of Sylvania.
    The bride and groom are both graduates of the University of Georgia. Dr. Meca Renee Williams holds a doctorate of philosophy in educational psychology and teaches research methods in the College of Education at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Additionally, Dr. Williams is the owner of Learning By Delivery, an innovative education resource and tutoring company.
    The Rev. Francys Johnson holds a doctorate of law from  the University of Georgia and is a lecturer on race, law, and public policy. The Rev. Johnson is the pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Pembroke. Additionally, he directs the Georgia NAACP Legal Redress programs.
    The couple will host a formal reception at Snella’s Special Events at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie L. Jenkins and Charles L. White Jr. officiating.
    No local invitations will be sent. All friends and relatives are invited.
