Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Alan Rowand of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Leigh Rowand, to Lorin Matthew Strickland, son of Frances Strickland of Woodstock and Michael Whitlaw Strickland of St. Augustine, Fla.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Groover Tyson and the late John W. Donaldson of Statesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman James Rowand of Portal. She is a 1998 honor graduate of Bulloch Academy and a 2002 graduate of Brenau University in Gainesville, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in corporate communications. She is an alumna of Delta Delta Delta sorority and a member of Zeta Phi Eta honor society. Michelle is employed with Peach State Promotions, Inc. in Cumming as a senior account executive.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Leo Lichten of Longwood, Fla., and the late Carolyn Lichten of Albany and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Strickland of Albany. He is a 1999 graduate of Lassiter High School in Marietta and attended Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Matthew is employed with Commercial Property Restoration, Inc. in Hoschton as a project manager.
The wedding will take place on October 6, 2007, at the Chattahoochee Country Club on Lake Sidney Lanier in Gainesville.
