Rebekah Faythe Rotton and John Bernard Lovell III were united in Christ on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at 6 p.m. at Statesboro First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kevin Richardson of Dallas, Texas, performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mickey and Gwenda Rotton of Metter and is the granddaughter of Faye and James Lamb of Metter and Tommie Powell of Dublin. The groom is the son of John and Nancy Lovell Jr. of Richmond Hill and is the grandson of Neil and Stiles Conrad of Atlanta, Len and Annette Parker of Atlanta and Marie Braswell of Atlanta.
Acolytes were Jared and Cole Johnson of Lyons, cousins of the bride. Noah and Rachel Deal of Metter and Makayla Rotton of Soperton, all cousins of the bride, were program attendants. Both girls wore matching chocolate brown dresses with lavender accents to match the bridesmaids.
Music was provided by Dr. Pierce Dickens and Lee Walker.
The altar area was decorated with white candelabras and each pew was draped with a cream bow.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless chapel-length gown, accented by a chocolate brown sash and a gold and ivory rhinestone brooch. The dress was accented on the hem and throughout the train with crystal beading and scalloped lace. Rebekah wore a chapel-length veil accented with crystal beading and rhinestones and a matching rhinestone tiara in a gold setting. She carried a bouquet of lavender roses and white calla lilies tied with a lavender ribbon.
Holley Rotton, sister of the bride, served as Rebekah’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Redding of Metter, Rori Redding of Statesboro, Kimberly Kaiser of Statesboro, Allison Hutto of Atlanta, Becca Whitley of Evans, Megan Cook of Jefferson and Merideth Turner of Dacula.
The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown strapless floor-length dresses that were bustled with a slight train. A lavender sash, created by bridesmaid Kimberly Kaiser, was tied at the waist. Each attendant carried a single white calla lily.
Honorary bridesmaids were Gracie and Missy Lovell of Jackson, Miss., sisters of the groom. Each wore a black knee-length dress and carried a single calla lily.
The groom selected Evan Temple of Brunswick and Ryan Frederick of Seattle, Wash., as his two best men. Groomsmen included John Lovell Jr., father of the groom; Jeff Austin of Savannah, Eric Mercer of Savannah, Josh Adams of Gainesville, Matt Leland of North Carolina, Ryan Cameron of Puyullap, Wash., and Khendall White of Richmond Hill.
Immediately following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.
The guest book was attended by Jerri O’Brien.
The bride’s cake was served by Nita Callaway of Metter. The groom’s cake was served by Penny Harris of Statesboro.
