Mrs. Gabriel Clifford Manning
    Gena Leigh Kennedy and Gabriel Clifford Manning were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Statesboro First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Steve Kegley performed the 6:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Kennedy of Statesboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mincey of Brooklet and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Kennedy of Statesboro.
    The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford D. Manning of St. Marys, Ga. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Caldwell and the late Alvin Dickey of St. Marys and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford M. Manning of Woodbine, Ga.
    Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, Gena wore a strapless form-fitting style gown of silk taffeta. The bodice featured asymmetrical pleating adorned with scattered, beaded lace appliques. The trumpet skirt spread into a chapel-length train, with a two layer fingertip-length ivory veil edged in ivory piping. She carried an all white bouquet which included stephanotis, tuberose, hyacinth, nerine lilies, mini callas, garden roses and jasmine tied together with silk and satin ribbons.
    Matron of honor was Lori Powell Nurmi of Pelham, Ga. Maid of honor was Laine Marie Williams of Statesboro. Bridesmaids were Susan Elizabeth Adams of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lindsay Diane Baker, Rebecca Hall Blumenthal and Emily Scott Kennedy, sister-in-law of the bride, all of Statesboro; Ryan Marie Manning of Atlanta, sister of the groom; Candice Tillman Rogers of Metter, Kelly Ruth Smith of Bluffton, S.C., Wendy Lee Turner of Sebring, Fla., and Lindsay Ann Youngblood of Atlanta.
    Adorned in tea-length pool satin dresses, the bridesmaids carried a dozen calla lilies hand-tied with satin ribbon.
    Honorary bridesmaids were cousins of the bride, Stephanie Nichole McElveen of Richmond Hill, Candice Faith Robbins, Joni Lorraine Robbins and Brittany Nicole Tucker, all of Statesboro.
    They wore knee-length black dresses and carried a smaller version of the bridesmaids’ bouquets.
    Flower girl was Julianna Leigh Kennedy, cousin of the bride. She wore a white floor-length gown with a headpiece made of garden roses and baby’s breath with flowing silk and satin ribbons and carried a small basket accented with all-white garden roses.
    Gabe chose his father, Clifford D. Manning, as his best man. Groomsmen were Joshua Alan Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., Brian Deloach Dickey of Athens, Ga., uncle of the groom; Daniel Miller Heldreth of Savannah, James Gregory Kennedy, brother of the bride; Kyle Joseph Manning, brother of the groom; James Craig Marsh and Stacy Michael Olliff, all of Statesboro; Eric Allen Schrepel of Atlanta, Paul Morris Talley of St. Marys and Joseph Grant Tompkins of Bonaire, Ga.
    Ring bearer was Jacob Alvin Dickey of Gainesville, Ga., cousin of the groom. He carried a white satin pillow accented with a sheer hand-tied bow.
    Ushers were David Michael Newland of Savannah, Jonathon Drew Pressley of Atlanta, Willie Winnifred Walker III of Orlando, Fla., and Bradley Eugene Wright of Swainsboro.
    Music was provided by Pierce Dickens, Steve Kegley and Christina Willoughby. Steven Clements read from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
    The guest book was attended by the honorary bridesmaids. The programs were also handed out by honorary bridesmaids. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. William Roy Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. David G. Cooper.
    Following the ceremony, Gena and Gabe were honored with a reception at Snella’s Place, where the newlyweds and guests were entertained by “The Variations” of Statesboro.
    Following a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will make their home in Pooler.
