Haley Celeste Herrmann and William Garrett Anderson were united in marriage at six o’clock in the evening on June 7, 2008. The double-ring, candlelit ceremony was held at Wades Baptist Church in Cooperville with the Rev. James Cox and the Rev. Dan Joyner officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Teresa Ellison of Sylvania and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Herrmann of Millen. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Christine Casey and the late Neil Casey, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Taylor and Mrs. Runette Herrmann and the late Roy Herrmann, all of Millen.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Anderson of Sylvania. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margaret Anderson and the late Billy Anderson of Statesboro and the late M.F. and Kathene Freeman of Sylvania.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an original white silk duchess satin gown. The strapless sweetheart neckline featured a boned, hand-embroidered bodice and Basque waist encrusted with various sizes of Swarovski crystals and bugle beads. The A-line skirt, with a modified V-back and cathedral train, had similar hand-embroidered lace lavishly adorned with Swarovski crystal beading at the hemline. She wore a two-layered, fingertip sheer illusion white veil edged with Swarovski crystal beading and a complementing Swarovski crystal tiara. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of miniature calla lilies, vendella roses, sweetheart roses, Fuji mums and asparagus fern.
The church aisles were flanked on each side with pedestals holding massive arrangements of gladiolus, vendella roses, Fuji mums, alstromeria and daises, accented with curly willow branches and asparagus fern. The chancel was outlined with grapevine intertwined with garlands of greenery and pink and white roses. White tree candelabras with lighted cathedral tapers were in the middle and on each side of the chancel. The candelabras were decorated with arrangements of white alstromeria and stargazer lilies, roses, Fuji mums, snapdragons and asparagus fern. Similar cascading floral arrangements designated family pews. The aisle was adorned with a white hand-painted aisle runner featuring the couple’s monogram.
The bride chose childhood friend Jessica Hall of Statesboro to serve as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Anna Casey and Megan Lane of Statesboro, cousins of the bride; Sonya Flakes of Hephzibah and Komal Patel of Macon, college friends of the bride; Nikki Sanders of Sylvania, childhood friend of the bride; Angie Lane and Vanessa Parker of Millen and Jennifer Oglesby of Sylvania, sisters of the bride; and Beth McKenzie of Sylvania, niece of the bride.
The bridesmaids wore floor-length teal satin chiffon gowns that fell into A-line skirts and featured sweep trains. The strapless neckline was accented with a Swarovski crystal brooch. They carried hand-tied bouquets of sweetheart roses, miniature calla lilies, chrysanthemums, hypericum berries, hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus and asparagus fern.
Danny Anderson, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Benji Anderson of Sylvania, brother of the groom; Stuart Boykin, Patrick Lee, Jason Smith and Justin Smith, all of Sylvania, childhood friends of the groom; Jason Brinson of Sylvania, childhood friend of the bride; Jeff Lane of Millen, brother-in-law of the bride; Matt Sykes, friend of the groom; and Philip Kent, brother of the bride, both of Statesboro.

Music was provided by Sandra Jeffers, pianist; Melaina Joyner and Will Gay, vocalists.
Kimberly Kirby of Young Harris, college friend of the bride, greeted guests and kept the bride’s book.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a seated dinner-reception and dance at Snella’s Place in Statesboro.
The couple honeymooned at the Sandals Resort in St. Lucia and now make their home in Cooperville.
