Mr. and Mrs. Mike Howard of Statesboro announce the engagement of their son, Michael Hunter Howard, to Nidia Elizabeth Elizalde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luis Julian Elizalde of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Hunter is the grandson of Tom and Lennie Howard and Carolyn Phillips-Patray and the late Elmer Phillips. Hunter is a 1999 graduate of Statesboro High School. After serving as a missionary in Mexico from 1999-2007, Hunter relocated to Las Cruces, N.M., where he serves as the youth pastor for Heart for the World Church. He also serves as the liaison for Heart for the World International Ministries and Mexican Missionary Outreaches.
Liz is the granddaughter of Enrique and Ramona Moreno and Maria Elena Elizalde and the late Luis Julian Elizalde Sr. She is employed as a math teacher and junior high school coordinator for Blas Pascal Institute in Chihuahua, Mexico.
The wedding is planned for August 30 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. A celebration service and reception are planned for September 13 at 7 p.m. at the Robbins Nest located on Highway 80 West in Statesboro.
No local invitations will be sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
