Reeling in a good time at Mill Creek
Devon Johnson
While fishing with fellow members of the Register Baptist Church, Devon Johnson, 14, decides to try a new rig during the 37th Bulloch Bass Club family fishing tournament at Mill Creek Regional Park May 12.

The 37th Bulloch Bass Club family fishing tournament was held May 12 at Mill Creek Pond at Mill Creek Regional Park. Baker Holland, 13, hauled in an attention-getting bass, which was tagged. The catch garnered him $50. Catching a tagged fish is always a highlight of the annual tournament.

The tournament is free for children ages 5 to 15, with an accompanying adult. All participants must provide their own fishing equipment and bait, and each child enjoys a free hotdog and drink.

Trophies were awarded to first, second and third place catches. More than 130 children signed up for the tournament, which included prizes of fishing rods, tackle boxes and bicycles donated by local businesses.
