Tyson signs with UGA
Statesboro High’s DeAngelo Tyson, center, signed a national letter of intent to play football at the University of Georgia on Wednesday on the campus of SHS. Tyson, a defensive lineman, committed to UGA verbally as a junior. He was happy to sign on Wednesday after a sleepless night. “I’m just very proud of myself that I qualified so that I can go to school when everybody else goes,” he said. “I had a good support group, teachers, the athletic coaches — I’m just glad they were on my side.” Tyson will join former teammates Justin Houston and John Knox in Athens this summer.
