Pink Panthers show their support

PORTAL — September is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Portal Lady Panthers will show their support this week as they’ll take a different look when they host Wheeler County today at 5 p.m.
They’ll wear pink uniforms, something the GHSA is allowing for the first time this season.
As far as PHS coach Shannon Davis has seen, Portal is the only team in the area to do so.
“This is the first year that the [Georgia High School Association] has allowed us to do this,” Davis said. “I think we’re the only team that’s doing it.”
Fans attending today’s game wearing pink to show their support at Panther field will gain admission for $1.
“We just think it’s a great cause,” said Davis. “Cancer touches so many People’s lives, and we think it will be cool for us all to show our support for cancer survivors, people who are dealing with cancer right now.”
