Local Roundup: Statesboro High's Mee signs with Augusta State

    Justin Mee, a 2012 Statesboro High School honor graduate, has accepted an athletic and academic scholarship to Augusta State University.
    He will play baseball with the Jaguars and pursue his degree in Nursing. Mee played four years of Baseball for SHS and was a member of the Swimming team.

SEB to dedicate new field house
    Southeast Bulloch High School will dedicate its new athletic fieldhouse in memory of legendary basketball coach George Roebuck Friday, at 8 p.m. in front of the old gym which is now the new athletic fieldhouse.
    The community is invited to attend.
    The new facilities, including the new stadium and Fred Shaver Field will be open up for the community walk through after fieldhouse dedication.

BA kicker named to prospect list
    KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Ray Guy/ProKicker.com Kicking Academy has recently announced that John Paul Padilla of Bulloch Academy has been named to its Top Prospect List.
    Padilla was one of thousands of high school athletes  who attended the Ray Guy/ProKicker.com Kicking Academy, which is held annually in over 50 cities across the nation.
    Athletes named to the Top Prospect List for each camp were individually evaluated and graded on facets of kicking, punting, and long snapping such as accuracy, timing, and distance.
    Padilla’s performances put him at the top of list among the camp’s participants. His scores and profile can be found at ProKicker.com, along with complete rankings.

GSU student tickets for UGA game to go on sale Sept. 12
    Georgia Southern University student tickets for the Saturday, Nov. 17 football game at Georgia in Athens, Ga., will go on sale at 6 p.m., on Sept. 12, at Hanner Fieldhouse. A valid Georgia Southern Eagle ID is required and students will be limited to two ticket per person.
    The cost of each ticket is $47.50 and can be purchased with cash, American Express, Visa or Mastercard. All sales are final and no refunds or exchanges will be granted. The game time has not been set as of yet and will be released at a later date.
    Students may begin lining up on the parking lot side of Hanner  Fieldhouse at 5 p.m.
