Local Roundup: Jackets even region record at Islands

    SAVANNAH — The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets got into the win column in convincing fashion on Tuesday, beating Islands 69-51 on the road.
    The Jackets (1-4, 1-1 Region 1-AAA) were led by Lamont Ballard (14 points), Kaelin Jones (13) and Preston Smith (12).
    SEB returns to action on Friday at Pierce County.

SEB girls win on the road
    SAVANNAH — The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets (2-2, 1-1 Region 1-AAA) knocked off Islands 46-37 on Tuesday.
    Jasmine Roberts paved the way with 19 points. SEB plays on the road Friday at Pierce at 6 p.m.

Lady Tigers top Wheeler
    ALAMO — The Claxton Lady Tigers (4-2) dominated from the opening tip, leaving Wheeler County with a 56-30 win on the road Tuesday.
    Keri Brown recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
    Claxton was led in scoring by Taylor Fiveash's 13 points. Devonna Brewton added 11.

WJMS knocks off Ebenezer
    The William James Middle School boys recently defeated Ebenezer 49-19 to improve to 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in the region. 
    The Knights led 19-10 at halftime, but used a 22 point third quarter to put the game away. Dra Harrison played his best game of the year.  He was a difference maker on offense and defense. 
    Ahmad Edwards and Traveyon Burns also played very solid games. 
    The Knights go on the road on today to take on Effingham County, which is also 4-0 in the region.
