Statesboro High's Clay Cribbs won a two-hole playoff to take home low medalist at a three-team golf match hosted by the Blue Devils at the Georgia Southern University golf course on Monday.
South Effingham won the event, with a team total 173. Statesboro placed second, in front of Effingham County, with a team score of 185.
On Saturday in Waynesboro, the Lady Blue Devils shot a 217 at the Burke County Ladies Invitational.
Statesboro was led by Sarah Jane Bowers, who shot 83 on the day. Brianna Jones and Emily Olssen rounded out the SHS team.
Portal, which was also in attendance, was led by Faith Reddick, who shot 89.
GSU women even record
Georgia Southern women’s tennis defeated USC Upstate on the Wallis Tennis Center, 4-0, on Sunday. The Eagles improve to 9-9 overall.
The Eagles notched the doubles point. Jordana Klein and Mary Phillips Smith took down Sarah Vande Berg and Lindsey Buenger in the No. 3 singles spot, 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, Stephanie Woods and Giulia Riepe defeated Talia Rojas and Taylor Cohen, 8-5.
Stephanie Woods, Giulia Riepe and Smith clinched were all voctorious in singles.
The Eagles face Furman on Saturday at home.
