GLENNVILLE -- Sylvia Grace Ferrell Brannen, 73, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Affins Hospice.
    She was born March 15, 1945, to John and Ola Mae DeLoach Ferrell and lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker, loving, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed fishing, reading and sewing.
    She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served as church clerk and treasurer. She also served as clerk for Tattnall Evans Baptist Association for 17 ½ years.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 46 years, William Brannen; sister, Colleen Smith; son-in-law, Russell Wallace.
    She is survived by: son, Billy and Lynn Brannen of Statesboro, Georgia; daughters, Michele Wallace of Glennville, Georgia; Libby and Jim Henderson of Norfolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Peter Wallace of Glennville, Georgia; Robert Wallace (Britton Collins) of Reidsville, Georgia; Jennifer and Justin Matthews of Chesapeake, Virginia; Jarrell Lariscy and Jennifer Lariscy of Statesboro, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren, brother, Paul and Audrey DeLoach of West Monroe, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Eleise Godwin of Callahan, Florida; Linda Smiley and Barbara Ann Barrow of Lyons, Georgia; Roxanne Brannen of Claxton, Georgia; and Joy Ellis of Glennville, Georgia; and brother-in-law, Edward and Kathy Brannen of Glennville, Georgia. Several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives also survive along with special friends, Dot Durrence and Lynda King.
    The funeral service was held 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2018, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Gordon and the Rev. Eric Rentz officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
    Honorary pallbearers were members of the Glennville High School Class of 1963.
    Pallbearers: Segal Glisson, Joey Todd, Jarrell Lariscy, Jeremy Hallowell, Larry Durrence, Andy Sumoski and Jamie Smiley.
    Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
