PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Mrs. Yvonne Moore-Tapley, age 66, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie, Florida, after a brief illness.
She was a native of Bulloch County and currently resided in Metter, Georgia. She was a member of Tremont Temple Baptist Church and attended William James High School. She worked many years at Shoney’s in Statesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Tapley, Metter, Ga.; two daughters, Andrea (Dawne) Moore, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and Tiffany Moore, Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Lenice Jones Jr., Statesboro, Ga.; Timothy Moore, Gainesville, Fla.; and William Crawford, Sumter, S.C.; her grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Skylar Moore, NiQuoyah Crawford, Jason Crawford, Jason Crawford, Kaden Taylor-Bell, Nohlan Crawford, Tatyana Jones, Zecharich Jones, Jamell (Shikina) Bostic, Jaron Jones, Lennia Jones and Amber Johnson; great-grandchildren, Leah Pace and Mak’Yah Moore; her siblings, the Rev. Paul (Christine) Moore, Margaret Cone, David Moore and June Moore, all of Statesboro; and Elwood Moore, Camden, New Jersey; her father-in-law, John H. “Tap” Tapley II, Metter, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Maretta Moore, Statesboro; and Rita Mae (Willie Joe) Grant, Metter, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Bryant (Terkia) Tapley, Statesboro; and John Tapley, Metter, Ga.; a host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Tapley will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Tremont Temple Baptist Church, Terrell Street, Metter, GA, with the pastor, the Rev. Gregg Stafford, as eulogist. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Statesboro.
Public viewing will be held from Noon until 8 p.m. and the family will receive family and friends from 6-7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
There will be no viewing after 8 p.m. on Friday evening and no viewing at the church prior to or after the funeral service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the very capable, caring, compassionate and professional staff of the James R. Barnes Mortuary.
