Mrs. Tibbie Rucker Pelote
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Tibbie Rucker Pelote, age 82, died on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility.
    The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County attended Middleground School.
    She worked for Aldred's Motel Restaurant, Mrs. Bryant’s Kitchen and retired from R.J.’s after 30 years of service.
    She was a member of the First Baptist Statesboro.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, George Pelote Sr.; her parents, George Rucker and Janie Yarborough Rucker; two sisters, Ruth Hagin and Jane Kearney; and a brother, Bill Rucker.
    Surviving are her son, George Pelote Jr. of Statesboro; one brother, Charles Rucker; two sisters, Omie Hagan and Dot (George) Stewart; a brother-in-law, Wilbur Smith, all of Statesboro; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Betty and Allen Gerald of Savannah.
    The visitation was held on Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
    The funeral service was held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. John Waters officiating. Interment was in Eastside Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Bill Akins, Mike Phillips, Glen Stewart, Bob Dinello, Dale Smith and Christopher Sands.
    Honorary pallbearers were former employees of R.J.’s Restaurant.
    The family requests that in memory of Mrs. Tibbie that you take a loved one to dinner and leave a generous tip to the server.
